Anthony Gordon has shown off the cuts that he suffered to his face, hands and knee when falling from a bike at England’s Euro 2024 training base.

WHAT HAPPENED?
The Newcastle winger was among those to head out on two wheels during a relaxed fitness session at the Spa & Golf Resort Weimarer Land in Blankenhain. He was unable to remain upright during that trip, and is now counting the cost.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Gordon suffered no lasting damage, but will be cursing his luck after taking a heavy fall. The 23-year-old took part in a training drill on Thursday that saw him sporting a large scab on his chin. He also had a graze on his nose.

Further cuts on Gordon’s wrist could be seen under his long-sleeved top, on his knuckles and left knee – with a plaster required to help keep that injury clean. The Magpies forward was able to complete Gareth Southgate’s session without any difficulties.

WHAT NEXT FOR ENGLAND?
With that in mind, he should be available for England’s last-16 encounter with Slovakia on Sunday. Luke Shaw has stated that he could come into contention for that fixture, while Phil Foden is expected to return to Germany in time from a trip home to celebrate the birth of his third child.
